A Polished Plan
about the project
This is the second iteration of A Polished Plan. The first looked similar and was in Flash. We left that one behind to build this WordPress website so Sarah could have easy access to edit content and a site that works on all devices.
Inspired by vintage postcards & love letters, the paper-like background and antique stamp border illuminate Sarah’s breathtaking event photos. A graceful tree engraved with a heart drops leaves leisurely.
Meeting the fantastic team at APP is easy with a click from the About page. Links to their social media and a couple of cute #hashtags give insight into their personalities. Finding out about the company is straight forward with no nonsense package descriptions.
Inside the Portfolio, a striking vertical image introduces each event. Rollover before you enter for a clever description of the theme for that event. Gallery images slide by horizontally, fading out the next & previous, while keeping the current one center stage.
Under Praise, Sarah’s Polished Principle highlights her enthusiasm and amazing work ethic. Following that, heartfelt client testimonials are mixed with notable press.
We imported all of her old blog posts. A full history of their work in one place while their SEO stayed intact. Social media is covered, too: Pinterest with each image and full selection of social shares with each post. The contact page has a custom Instagram feed from both Sarah & Jess.
words from sarah
Working with Deb is like working with your mother, sister, or best friend! She makes the process lighthearted, uplifting, and always streamlined. But also, she’ll give you a friendly reality check when you just start talking crazy! After a few emails and some solid feedback, she just “gets it” and consistently makes your design vision even better than what you had originally hoped. I came back to Deb three years after she built my first website, in Flash, to do a complete overhaul, rebrand, and rebuild in Wordpress. BEST investment in my business thus far! With my Flash website, I had to hire Deb, as needed, for maintenance tasks when I wanted to change really anything on the website. But now- I am completely hands on with the backend and don't have to contact her unless I screw something up! The backend is so user friendly and easy to manage small and big edits including weekly blog posts. And the website's SEO has been fantastic as I consistently rank on Page 1 of Google. Deb put a ton of energy and effort into maximizing SEO and teaching me how to maintain it over the years. I owe much of my success to my wonderful website and my wonderful Deb. :)
